By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. It comes with a Japanese made scope that is Glenfield branded and is very clear.

I'm in one of my LGS's that I hang out at and I see there are 3 Marlin "JM" stamped 336 30-30's on the rack. So naturally I want to take a look at them...I look at the markings on the barrel, one is "SC", one is "A", now, I've looked around abit but other than seeing that "yea, they are Marlin models" of the 336, what is the real difference?

The main difference is that the Glenfield has a walnut stained hardwood stock (usually birch) whereas the Marlin as a walnut stock.
