Thanks for the report. Jocassee is a beautiful lake & I’ve paddled a sea kayak plenty of miles on it back in the day. Only trolled it once last year and caught some small bass. This trout trolling is new to me & pretty much my only real success has been in Cheoah and Calderwood and frankly, I think that success was mostly accidental!

Since most of the 75 miles of shoreline are rocky, its best to fish this lake by boat. You can launch your boat using one of the three public boat ramps. You can also rent a boat at the Jocassee Outdoor Center, which serves both Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee. Bring the whole family and spend the night at one of the nearby campgrounds or RV spaces.
